Getting Started

Use these tools to search for resources:

  • Using the Catalogue tab
    Use the Catalogue tab to search for items located in your campus library, such as books, theses, DVDs and videos. The Catalogue tab will find journal titles, but does not search the databases for individual journal articles.
  • Using the Search tab
    Use the Search tab to search across all library resources at once. As well as finding books and other items from the library shelves, the Search tab will also search the databases for journal articles, reports, reviews and newspaper articles (optional).
  • Using the Journals tab
    Use the Journals tab to search or browse for a journal title.
  • Look up a definition in The Oxford Companion to Australian Politics
 

Using the Catalogue tab

From the Library's homepage:

  1. Click on the Catalogue tab
  2. Type the title of the book you are looking for into the search box
  3. From the drop-down menu, select Title, to only search for book titles
  4. Click Go to start the search

 

Using the Search tab

From the Library's homepage:

  1. Use the Search tab
  2. Type the title of the book you are looking for into the search box
  3. Click Go to start the search

 

Using the Journals tab

From the library homepage:

  1. Click on the Journals tab
  2. Type in the title of a journal or your keywords
  3. Choose to search either 'Print & Electronic' journals or 'Electronic only' - note that some journals will not have the most recent articles available online, but the library may have it on the shelf
  4. Choose to search either by 'Title' or 'Keywords'
  5. Click Go to start the search

 

Look up a definition in The Oxford Companion to Australian Politics

  1. Go to the Oxford Companion to Australian Politics and login with your student username and password.
  2. Type in a search term and click the magnifier icon to start the search.
  3. Or use the A-Z icons to browse the entries.
