Archaeology and heritage professional associations and organisations are a great source of up-to-date information for anyone working in the field or wanting to find out what it is like to work in the field.
They often contain information about events (including conferences) that you may be interested in participating in as well as publications that may be useful for your studies.
- Australia ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites)Encourages the raising of standards and generates debates and innovative ideas for cultural heritage conservation in Australia. It is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation of cultural heritage professionals.
- First Peoples Relations VictoriaCommunity strengthening and engagement, self determination and treaty, cultural heritage management and protection.
- Australian Archaeological Association (AAA)Promotes the advancement of archaeology, provides opportunities for the discussion and dissemination of archaeological information and ideas, and publicises the need for the study and conservation of archaeological sites and collections.
