FACTIVA
Factiva is the most comprehensive online collection of newspapers that we have access to.
Note that the newspapers that are covered by Factiva are generally not listed in the library catalogue.
To access Factiva, go to the library home page and click on A-Z Databases/Journals, then click on the letter 'F'.

Select the group of newspapers that you want to search by expanding the Source field. Click on the group to restrict a search to that group.

Enter your search terms in the Free Text Search box. Remember to use connectors (and, or) to join the parts of the search. The wild card is the asterisk (*). Terror* will retrieve terrorism, terrorist and terrorists.
You may want to change the dates. The default search is the most recent two years.

The default search looks for your search in the Headline and Lead Paragraph. If you want to look for the words anywhere in the article use the More Options link.

You can use the word count option to find lengthy articles. To do this you need to specify that you are searching the full article.

To determine if a newspaper is available online via Factiva, enter the name of the newspaper in the Browse Sources box.

Click on the Information icon to get coverage information. Click on the title to select that title to search as a source.

Note that coverage for each newspaper varies.
