Searching the Library catalogue

Books usually provide more of an overview of a topic than journal articles.

1. Title searching

Use Title searching in the library catalogue to search for book or journal titles (but NOT journal articles) e.g. Writing papers in the biological sciences or European Journal of Biochemistry.

2. Keyword searching

Use Keyword searching to search for keywords such as: gmo** and environment**

Hint: ** searches for variations on a word such as environment/ environments/ environmental etc.

Hint: Use the bibliographies at the end of book chapters and journal articles to locate additional items.
