Keyword searching
The Keyword search is the default search in the catalogue.
It finds ALL the words that you put in the search box in each record it retrieves.
Step 1
Think of 2 or 3 keywords to describe your topic
eg use the title of the work (especially if it is a classic) or the author and the word criticism
- voss criticism
- stead christina criticism
- carey peter criticism
Adding the word criticism to your search will find books ABOUT the author or the text

Step 2
Sort your results by date. The default is by Relevance, but this often provides books written in the 1950s as the top option. Date is a good way to scroll through the results.
To search more broadly on Australian Literature use terms such as
- australian literature national characteristics
- australian literature women writing
- australian literature national identity
- landscape literature australia*
