Data can be shared with other La Trobe researchers by enabling access for them to your research drive. If you need to share your research data with researchers who are external to La Trobe or you only wish to share certain files in your research drive, you will need to transfer your data safely and securely. To do so, it is recommended that you use the CloudStor File Transfer Service. CloudStor offers a dedicated, safe, secure file transfer service and can accommodate large files and large volumes of data.
Use Cloudstor for transferring data files only. Do not use it as a backup strategy as files are deleted after a designated time.
Data Transfer To International Destinations
The Research Data Management Policy states that:
All research data intended for transfer outside of Australia must be assessed by the Chief Investigator to determine if the transfer of the research data is affected by export control laws. All permit applications must be sought through La Trobe University registered personnel, and records of transfers must be maintained for the approved duration period by the Chief Investigator. Records must be made available to the University for annual review (Section 32).
