Introduction
Your research in the catalogue will take you to various items, such as books, ebooks, conference papers, videos and journal articles that can be accessed both at La Trobe either from your enrolled campus library or from another La Trobe campus library. Perhaps you have also explored internet resouces via the preferrred search engine of Google Scholar to find relevant academic information sources, or you may have a reading list from your faculty where you need to find specific resources.
If the item you require is available at another campus of La Trobe, this is referrred to as an Intercampus request. Refer to section on Books and some audiovisual items
If the item you require is not available at La Trobe but could be obtained from another University, TAFE or other library in Australia, this is referred to as an Interlibrary request and needs to be ordered via the Document Delivery System
Document Delivery System
The Library offers and actively promotes a comprehensive system where items can be requested between campuses (intercampus) and interlibrary document delivery service to all students and staff. Material can be requested online and articles and chapters may be delivered to the desktop. Undergraduate students may receive 10 interlibrary copy requests per year, Honours, Graduate Diploma & Final 4th year students may receive 25 items per year (either books or journal articles) from external libraries, with Masters and PhD students receiving an extended quota of 100 items per year.
