Categorise References in Word

Categorise References in Bibliography

A feature of EndNote 21 is the ability to categorise references in the Microsoft word bibliography. This allows for sub-headings to be included in bibliographies, as in the example below. This is useful for AGLC4 citation style, for example.

This can be managed through the Endnote 21 ribbon within Word. First create the sub-categories and then drag the references into a sub-category to group them.

1. From the EndNote ribbon click Categorize References and select Configure Categories.

Endnote toolbar in Word - choose Categorise References

2. Click the '+' icon to above the side panel to add new Category Headings. (Click the '-' icon beside each category to remove it).

3. Drag the references cited in the document to any of the categories. Click OK to finish.
