The following are parties to the National Health Information Agreement 2013
- AIHW (Australian Institute of Health & Welfare)AIHW (a Federal Government statutory authority) is a major national agency set up to collect and provide information on Australia's health and welfare, to inform discussion and decisions on policy and services. AIHW works with all state, Territory and federal government health, housing and community services agencies in collecting, analysing and disseminating data.
- Medicare AustraliaMedicare Australia (an agency of the Australian Government) aims to improve health outcomes. The Medicare program ensures all Australians have access to free or low-cost medical, optometric and hospital care.
- Australian Bureau of StatisticsThe ABS (an agency of the Australian Government) provides statistics on a wide range of economic and social matters, including health and health services.
Key Data Collection
- Elective Surgery Information System (ESIS)(ESIS) is a patient-level collection of elective surgery waiting list data from approved Victorian public healthcare services.
- Victorian Emergency Minimum Dataset (VEMD)(VEMD) comprises de-identified demographic, administrative and clinical data detailing presentations at Victorian public hospitals with designated emergency departments.
- Mental HealthArea mental health services are monitored quarterly against a suite of performance indicators.
- Infectious diseasesThe department provides guidelines and advice to health professionals about infectious diseases.
- Victorian Cancer RegistryVCR maintains a Register of all cases of cancer diagnosed in Victoria, collecting data from hospitals, pathology laboratories and cancer screening registers. The VCR operates as part of the Cancer Council Victoria which is a member of the Cancer Council Australia.
- Birth, Deaths & Marriages - VictoriaThe Registry (a Victorian government agency) records all births, adoptions, marriages and deaths occurring in the state of Victoria. Registration data from all states and territories are published at national level by Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW).
- World Health OrganizationThe World Health Organization (WHO) primary role is to direct and coordinate international health withing the United nations's system.
- Global Health Observatory (GHO) dataThe aim of the GHO portal is to provide easy access to country data and statistics with a focus on comparable estimates and WHO’s analyses to monitor global, regional and country situation and trends.
- International Agency for Research on CancerThe International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is the specialized cancer agency of the World Health Organization.
- ANZOD (Australian & New Zealand Organ Donation Registry)ANZOD records statistics relating to organ donation following death within Australia and New Zealand.
- ANZDATA (Australian & new Zealand Dialysis and Transplant Registry)ANZDATA collects statistics from renal units in Australia and New Zealand relating to outcomes of treatment for end stage renal failure.
- The Donor Conception Register ServicesVictorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment Authority (VARTA) manages the Central Register and Voluntary Register (Donor Treatment Registers). VARTA is a statutory authority funded by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.
- National Centre for Health Information Research and TrainingNCHIRT is dedicated to research, training and consulting activities with specific application to the quality and utility of routinely collected health data.
