Introduction

Finding theses

Theses are used to inform your research. They indicate what research has been undertaken in your topic and research field and what methodologies were used. They also provide useful examples of how researchers have structured and written their thesis.

There is no 'one' place to find theses. You will need to search in sources such as library catalogues, research repositories, specialist databases and websites. Some sources link to the full text of a thesis.

Many sources use the terms thesis or dissertation to describe theses - use both terms in your search to find relevant items.

All La Trobe University staff and students are able to request theses from other institutions, both in Australia and overseas, using the Document Delivery Service.
