Journal article
- Authors’ surname, followed by no more than 2 initials
- Authors’ surnames are separated by a comma and a space
- Articles that have up to 6 authors, list them all
- Articles that have more than 6 authors, list the first 6 authors and then put - et al.
- Journal titles are abbreviated
- If possible, abbreviate page numbers, for example, 101-18
- State the volume number, no space followed by the issue number in brackets
- Provide the DOI (digital object identifier) if provided
For an electronic journal article
- include the web address
- You must state the date you cited the article, for example, [cited 2020 May 2]
- Add Internet in square brackets after the abbreviated journal title, for example, [Internet]
- Include the DOI after the URL at the end of the reference
