About Finding information

Being able to research and use information to support your ideas or argument is an essential part of study success. You will need to learn about important sources and types of information, and how you might use them. Develop clever search skills to go further than Google and your textbooks.

What you will learn

  • how to develop a search strategy to use your time effectively
  • recognise the difference between primary and secondary sources
  • understand what 'peer reviewed' or 'scholarly' means and how to find this material
  • discover what search tools are available and when to use them

Where to get help

Help is available through Library Senior Learning Advisors in the Learning Hub on your local campus. Library staff are also available in the Help Zones / Help desks at each campus.
