APC Discounts and Waivers for LTU authors

Here is the current list of publishers with discounts or waivers of Article Processing Charges (APCs) available for La Trobe authors. Corresponding authors must use their La Trobe institutional email at submission for eligibility.

2025 AGREEMENTS: All our 2024 open access publishing agreements have been renewed for 2025. We have a new agreement with Emerald commencing 1 January 2025.

CAP UPDATE NOTICE: Publishing caps for the Wiley (hybrid), Wiley (fully open access), Springer Nature, and Taylor & Francis agreements have been reached.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CAUL READ & PUBLISH AGREEMENTS

Under the CAUL (Council of Australian University Librarians) open access publishing agreements listed below, La Trobe corresponding authors can avoid APCs for eligible journal articles.

Check each CAUL Publisher page for the list of included journals. The link to the list is under the 'Key Facts' heading at the top of each publisher page. Some publishers list all journals, with notes regarding inclusion or not, and some list only journals with discounts or waivers. If a particular journal is not listed, the APC waiver is not available. If searching for a journal title that includes "and" please also try searching for "&".

Each CAUL Publisher page also has important information about types of articles covered, author rights and the submission process. Read these carefully as requirements vary between publishers.
