Additional referencing styles

Postgraduate students (including Honours) are sometimes required to use other referencing styles - please check with your supervisor. Listed below are just a few of the other styles.

Academy of Management
Links to Style guide for authors. The Citations and References links will need to be used.
American Chemical Society
Links to the References section of the ACS Style Quick Guide.
CSE (formerly CBE or Council of Biology) Style
Link to a quick overview of citation styles - you may need to check with your supervisor/lecturer as to which one to use (choices are citation-notes, citation-sequence or name-year). Each is linked on the page.
Chicago
Can be either a notes-bibliography style or an author-date style. Check with your supervisor/lecturer as to which you should be using.
IEEE
The IEEE Editorial Style Manual page has a link to the 43 page IEEE Referencing Guide . There are also links on this page to the Journal and Magazine titles and abbreviations required when using this style.

Vancouver Referencing (La Trobe University Library)
This guide provides detailed referencing examples for Vancouver Referencing style. Including examples of in-text referencing, direct quotations and paraphrasing. Bibliography/Reference List instruction is available by selecting format type from the left of the screen.
Vancouver
The two major versions of Vancouver are AMA and Citing Medicine. There are minor variations between the two. The links on this page will assist you with using the AMA version of Vancouver.
