First time users of ClinicalKey need to register. Accounts are free.
-
Please use your La Trobe email address.
-
For security reasons, we recommend creating a new password and not using your LTU password.
-
You only need to make one account. Your ClinicalKey login will work across all of LTU’s ClinicalKey databases.
-
If you’ve previously made a ClinicalKey account with your La Trobe email address, this should still work. Please contact the Library if you cannot access new resources.

Prescribing ClinicalKey textbooks to students
Important information
- Due to the need to create an additional login, we recommend providing Library Search links to students instead of a direct link to the book on the ClinicalKey website. Any student who hasn't created their account yet might get confused if they reach a login screen and can't login using their LTU credentials.
- The Library Search link can be found in the book's record in Library Search, using the Permalink button.
- ClinicalKey eBooks have unlimited access; there is no limit on the number of users who can read & use an eBook.
- Unfortunately, ClinicalKey eBooks do not have an option to print chapters or create PDFs.
- Students can use the Bookshelf feature to read online, or the Bookshelf app to read offline.
