Student access
Student access
First time users of ClinicalKey need to register. Accounts are free, and give you access to the extra features like the Bookshelf app.
- When you click or tap the link to a ClinicalKey textbook or database, you will be prompted to login to LTU. Use your LTU username and password.
- Then you'll see another Log In screen. New users need to register for a free account with ClinicalKey.
- Use your La Trobe student email address and any password. For security reasons, we recommend creating a new password and not using your LTU password.
- Save your details in your browser. You will only need to make one account.
Your ClinicalKey login will work across all of LTU's ClinicalKey databases.

Using the Bookshelf
When you access a textbook in ClinicalKey Student, you will see some options to View in Bookshelf. As a registered user, you automatically have access to the online ClinicalKey Bookshelf platform. You can also download the Bookshelf app.
The online Bookshelf app will open your textbook in a page-by-page format, rather than the scrolling format of the non-Bookshelf version of the textbook.
While using the ClinicalKey Student Bookshelf online platform, you can:
-
Add your textbooks to My Books for quick and easy access.
-
Save your reading progress, so you can pick up where you left off when you re-open the book.
-
Search and find specific terms or sections.
-
Use the Reader Preferences to adjust accessibility features and change how information is displayed.
-
Use the Read Aloud tool.
- Use the Workbook tool to make bookmarks, notes, flashcards, and highlight.
