General tips

Something not working? Here are the very basics:

  • Login via the library using your student number or staff username, e.g. 12345678 (not your email).  Do not try to access via an ‘institutional login’ link.
  • Check you are accessing La Trobe online resources – should be in the URL and the database will have Access by La Trobe University Library somewhere on the page.  Please ask for help if you are asked to pay.
  • Change the browser OR try connecting via VPN.
  • Clear the cache and cookies (see link below)
  • Close the browser and restart your computer.
  • Turn on Javascript.
  • Go direct from the database homepage.
  • Reset your password (even if your login is working on other sites).
