How to access the Archives

How do I request access to items?

All requests for access should be made in writing to archives@latrobe.edu.au. We are also happy to assist you in locating relevant items.

Where can I access the Archives?

LTU Archives' collections can be accessed on-site at Bundoora Campus. The Archives Reading Room—the Archivarium—is located on Level 2 of the Borchardt Library, and is available by appointment. If you are unable to attend the Archivarium in person, please contact us to discuss alternative means of access. While we cannot guarantee that remote access will be possible, we will do our very best to accommodate you.

Are the Archives accessible?

The Archivarium has basic wheelchair accessibility. There is an elevator to access Level 2, and an accessible bathroom on the same floor. Please contact the archives archives@latrobe.edu.au if you have any questions regarding accessibility.

Can I make copies of items?

You are generally welcome to take photographs of items using a camera or phone. The Archivarium also has a photocopier and scanner available for limited on-site digitisation. All copying is subject to copyright and other access restrictions. Please contact the Archives if you have questions or specific requirements surrounding the copying of archival materials.
