Notes
  • Required information to construct the reference: author, title of page, title of site, and owner/sponsor of site, publication or revision date and URL.  See CMOS 14.104.
  • In the footnote the title usually comes first; in the bibliography the source is listed under the sponsor/owner of website.
  • If there is no author, list the title of the website as author.
  • If no date can be determined, include an accessed date in format: month date, year.
  • For articles from a news website - format the reference the same as if for a Newspaper Article and include URL. No page numbers necessary.

Notes
  • Reference like a webpage as many ABS statistics are represented on webpages - ie "Title" in quotation marks.
  • ABS still have downloadable reports - if you use a downloaded report format the reference as for a Book. - ie Title in italics.
  • Anything consulted online needs to have URL included.
  • Some elements of the reference may be missing – include as a much information as possible so the reader can find the source.
  • Some statistics organisations are government bodies (eg ABS) so can use reference format of a government report  - remember On a webpage then "Title" (quotation marks) / document downloaded from a webpage then Title (italics).
